In July 1899, while crossing the trolley tracks near his home, Irish immigrant Michael Gavin was blindsided and struck by an electric streetcar. Against all odds, he recovered. Six years later to the month, in July 1905, he was run down by a local freight train--and again miraculously survived. Today, his great-great-granddaughter Dubliner Broozes continues the Gavin legacy, priding herself on her preternatural ability to recover, laughing, from even the most bone-jarring, body-sprawling hits on the flat track. Clearly, it's in the blood.
Dublin likes: Guinness, medieval epidemics, office supply stores, lolcats, snowstorms, saltwater
Dublin dislikes: new car smell, root beer, silverfish in the bathtub, those little onions that look like eyeballs, flagrant misuse of apostrophes
