THREE SIMPLE REASONS TO SPONSOR MAINE ROLLER DERBY
1. FAN DEMOGRAPHICS
An average of 770 fans attended our bouts in 2008. Our demographic is broad and the EXPOSURE is priceless. Nostalgic derby lovers sit shoulder to shoulder with twenty-&-thirty something’s and cheering kids at the Portland Expo, MRD’s official game venue.
2. FULL CONTACT SPORT WITH FREE PUBLICITY
Roller derby is a FULL-CONTACTsport with attitude and style – nothing is faked or staged. With over 200 leagues NATIONWIDE – and growing – the sport of roller derby is loved by all. Maine Roller Derby has been featured throughout local media outlets, including Bill Green’s Maine on WCSH 6, the sports section of the Press Herald and a feature in Port City Life Magazine. For all of our recent press, please view the press page of our website (www.mainerollerderby.com/press). Our skaters are also afforded frequent guest spots on local radio stations like WCYY & WMGX.
3. MRD’S CORE VALUES
Maine Roller Derby is a women-owned business, run by the skaters, for the skaters. MRD is a DIY, small business whose mission is to deliver a STRONG, positive, athletic image to the Southern Maine COMMUNITYand to be positive role models to girls and women. As a sponsor, your company will be featured alongside and affiliated with our grassroots, positive, athletic IMAGE.
Maine Roller Derby is committed to achieving a financial stability that will allow us to give back to the community in the form of participating in and hosting CHARITABLE events. MRD has collected donations for several charities including Frannie Peabody Center, A Company of Girls, PROP and Preble Street Resource Center and donates 5% of door sales to designated organizations in the local community.
